Get a Filing Cabinet

The fact that you need a filing cabinet to store all of those files is pretty obvious. The type of filing cabinet that you need to get isn’t so obvious. Most homes don’t need more than a one drawer type filing cabinet. If you need more than that, you should ask yourself if you are keeping too many files, and whether there are some files that can be thrown away.

A fire & water proof cabinet is the best idea, but if you can’t get one, then I do suggest you store your most valuable papers in a safety deposit box.

Also remember that, if you are also running a business, you need to separate the business files from your personal files by getting separate filing cabinets. If you have multiple businesses, you need to have a filing cabinet for each one.
